Overview
International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
is one of most popular ESOL examinations requisite to study, work and get
settled in countries like USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Switzerland
and so on. Students from countries where
English is their second and third language, have to take up this test. An
upward trend has been noticed in the popularity of this examination, According
to a survey every third of fourth student aspires to study in English speaking countries.
Young students prepare very hard to obtain required score so they can be
illegible to study in their dream countries. IELTS was first launch in 1989. It‘s
popularity has been exceedingly growing.
It has four modules, reading, writing, speaking and
listening divided in 2 categories 1st is Academic Training and 2nd
is General Training. Academic Training is taken up for educational purpose
whereas General Training is opted with the view of employment. There are other
set of rules and requirements for Residency. In India, Approximately 4 to 5
lakh students appear for this exam every year.

it opens up window of opportunities to study, work and get settled in the

Listening:-
Total numbers of questions – 40
Time allotted- 1 hour
You are served with audio test having 3 parts. What
you have to do is to fill in the blank, complete the diagram or table, finish
the process, write down 2 or 3 words answer in the answer script. The audio is
played you are to listen and fill the answer meantime. A majority of students
finds listening easy some consider it difficult.
Reading:-

Time allotted- 1 hour
Each passage contains 1200 to 1800 words; it is
considered that 1 passage is less difficult, the difficulty rises in next 2nd
and 3rd passages. In this text you have to write down 2 or 3 words
answers, find True, False and Not Given information, complete the process and
match the headings.
Writing-
2 writing tasks
Time allotted- 1 hour
You are to write an essay of at least 250 words on
given topic. 2nd is like a report based on table, Chart, Bar Graph
and process chart. In task 2 you have to write at least 150 words. Language structure and choice of vocabulary
play crucial role.
Speaking:-
Mock Interview
Time- 10 to 15 minutes
Speaking test is divided in 3 parts. First part deals
with introduction, 2nd with question card, you are given a topic to
speak for 1 or 2 minutes. 3rd part is about discussion
questions.

Pre IELTS- Test Orientation
Before you take up IELTS exam you are advised to
orient yourself to the test. You need to figure out important elements of the
test like difficulty level. What type of language is regarded, Vocabulary and

Find your strengths and weaknesses
There are areas you are confident about and miserable
too. Try to maintain your strengths and overcome your weakness. Keep practicing
unless or until you feel confident.

we all know that English plays very significant role in our life nowadays to
gain success and social status I don’t mean that you wouldn’t be accepted in
the society if you don’t know English but I mean that if you know English
people consider you are educated and knowledgeable. In this post I’m gonna
share my experience that I had while teaching .Many students often came to me
and would tell that they want to learn English. I would also ask them why do
they want to learn English? and they gave a number of reasons. Many students
said that English is necessary to learn the subjects well, to gain knowledge, improve personality, have a status
in the society to be appreciated by people and so on.
It is
undeniable that English has become one of the most important languages there

is the one which is used all over the globe. People from all nationalities somehow
and somewhere use this language. English has become the language of
international, Sports, film ,drama, communication and transaction. If you have
sound knowledge of writing, Speaking, listening and understanding English. Then
you have a great advantage. English language opens up window of opportunities
which can make you successful knowledgeable and able to do things well. You can
communicate with the vast majority of English speakers and exchange the
information. It is very difficult to learn many languages but English has
worked like a bridge to establish relationship, communication and partnership
with the people of different background, nationality and culture. I have
personally felt that the person who knows English is very comfortable to talk
and communicate. It also broadens your mind; improve the way you think and
study.
People from
all nationalities speak in English maybe their second or third language. While speaking
English you have to take care of lot of things proper use of , sentence
structures, vocabulary and rhythm if you put all these things properly you are
considered the great English Communicator .
But the
question is this that -
Do we all
speak correct English?
Do we use
appropriate words?
Do you speak
and write grammatically?
Do we
understand the roots of words we use everyday?
Maybe not
Nobody’s perfect in anything but we can achieve excellence if you want to speak
English grammatically correct use appropriate words and put proper
pronunciation then you need to learn using all these things properly.

have ever read on English language I have read about 20 books on English
language but the book really changed my attitude and confidence about this
language .Norman Lewis is one of the best English writers. The book was first
published in 1979 since then it’s been loved all over the world. This book has
immensely benefited students, teachers, doctor, engineers and people of
different fields they all have appreciated this book.
This book
covers a range of topics on personality, nature, human body, medical, Space,
Research etc. The book is divided into sections you can pick up one section and
improve your vocabulary according to your choice. First part of this book tests
your vocabulary then it starts building your vocabulary step by step, after
finishing every section you go through a test where you check out what you have
learnt. One good thing is this that you can revise your chapter again and again
unless and until you become confident about the section you have done than you
can move to the next. This book has 700 pages for an average reader it would
take 90 days to finish reading 700 pages. Within 90 days you’re going to feel
confident about your English you become a good speaker, writing and
understanding the depth of language..
I think you
must invest 90 days to read this book and learn what it offers. To speak English
fluently, grammatically correct and use appropriate words 90 days we can
invest. After 90 days we will be able to figure out the
root of words that we use every day we can also figure out the meaning and the
root of any new word that comes our way.
