You should say:-

How you know them/him
What you like about the person
And explain why this person is important to you.

Model Answer:-

Older people are of high importance in every section of society because they are rich in experience of life and knowledge of specific field.  There are some elderly people in my locality who are respected and admired for their intuition and intelligence.

Here I would like to talk about an older person who has been a guide and support to me for a decade. He is Mr. Raj Kumar about 70 years old.

I first met with him when I was in 12th standard. Since then I started visiting hi often.

He is a retired professor of economics. He served almost 40 years in various schools and colleges of my area.

He is very wise and down to earth person. He has been always there to guide and help young people to shine in life and achieve great things.

We have been in constant touch for a decade, when I was having difficult time academically he helped with my studies.

His teaching style is very unique and easy to understand. He makes other feel at home I never had to feel uncomfortable with him that I really like about the person.

He is very strict about education and he always preaches to work hard and keep patience. He tries to inspire us to be more practical in life.

Whenever I am in confusion about anything I approach his man and share everything. He listens everything carefully and guides me.

I trust this man so much and he makes me feel confident about life. He is very important person of our society. One thing that really amazes me about him his enthusiasm to live fully and openly. He is retired but he still works for the betterment of people around me. I pray to God that May his man live long to help me like people.

IELTS Speaking : Cue Card : Talk about your favorite book.

In this post we are going to cover a cue card. You can find the explanation and vocabulary.

IELTS Speaking : Cue Card : Talk about your favorite book.

Talk about your favorite book.

You should say:-

What its title is
What it’s about
When you read it
and say why it is your favourite book.

Model Answer:-

Reading is one of my favorite hobbies. I devote my most of free time reading books, magazines and newspapers.

I have so far read books on self help, inspiration, and finance and personality development.

There are many great authors committed to change the world through their writings.
If I talk about my favorite book it is the leader who had no title. This book is authored by Robin Sharma much sought after public speaker, leadership consultant and prolific writer.

I read it two years ago when I was planning to start a business in education sector
This book is about leadership skills, it says if one has to become a true leader, he must lead without any position.

The book indicates there are people holding huge titles and doing nothing. Some of them work just because they have titles.

True leaders don’t need any title they work for a cause. They don’t work for attracting the attention of people around them.

The author says every person is a leader he must work diligently and painstakingly
They work to inspire their co-workers to work at their best and boost positive atmosphere within the organization and society.

They don’t work to win accolades but to trust of people. They have a clear vision which can be translated into reality.

The book taught me not to work for show off; I must be working to bring a change which can uplift others. I become more positive and work selflessly.

There are some examples of people who work without any title. They have transformed lives of many people.

I now work without considering any accolades of my work. This book has been my favorite since very first read. Whenever I have to clear any concept of leadership I do read it.

Hope that the content is useful to your preparation.

IELTS Speaking:Cue Card: Describe a friend you have known for the longest time.

Hello IELTS Aspirants,
Hope you are doing great
In this post we are going to cover a Cue card which is very important and often asked in IELTS examinations.

Describe a friend you have known for the longest time.

You should say:-

When you first met
What you like about your friend
How often you see your friend
And say why this person is still your friend

Model Answer:-

It is true that friends are integral part of our life. We often make friends in school, collage and at workplace. I have made friends from all hues and I often make time to see them. Here I would like to talk about a friend who is still my best buddy. When I was in middle school that time I met with Rajesh Sharma. Earlier in the school I had no close friends there. Rajesh joined the class in the middle of academic session.

After couple of weeks of his enrollment in our class we started getting to know each other. We would often meet after the school and happen to be good and later best friends. There was a time when teachers would tell students of our friendship and academic performance.

Rajesh has been a down to earth and intelligent person, when we were studying in middle school, I was afraid of match, he helped me to clear some important concepts of math which were crucial to pass the board examination.

His speaking style was something that teachers and students admired a lot. Whenever I had any problem with any subjects I would approach him. He would explain in each and understandable manner.

There was a span of time we did not see each other. Fortunately we again started meeting and helping each other. We once started a small business and it grew more than our expectation.  Later we sold it. We have been together for many years.  I must say that this guy is a gem. We try every possible thing to maintain our friendship. We have been through hard time. I must say that he has been a great support in my life.
