aim is to achieve high score in ESOL examination than you have to go through what you come
across and learn a little or more.
Part-1
Friends
How often do you go out with friends? Why? Why
not?
Spending quality time with friends is part and
parcel to be happy in life. Even God looks for friendship and communion
with mankind. I have bunch of friends I can trust and hang out.
Mostly on weekends we go to cinemas and play ground. In other words
twice or thrice a week I make times to go out and enjoy with my mates.
On weekdays I have many irons in the fire. There are domestic duties,
study and jobs make me busy during the weekdays. Saturdays and Sundays I try to
keep free to unwind myself and discuss with friends.
Tell me about
your best friend at school?
I feel nostalgic when I
think of my school days. This was the time when I had no worries and stress. I
made many friends and some of them are still in my contact. Mr. Raj Aryan was
my best buddy in high school. He was an intelligent and smart
guy. He would often help me with my studies and notes making. On
weekends we used to get together in our garden and visit the canal to see the
waterfall. We both played cricket. Whenever we had any academic or personal
problem, we would resolve it together. He is really kind-hearted and
religious guy. We are still best friends. During the high school our friendship
used to be the talk of town.
How friendly are you with your neighbors?
It is very important to be amiable and open to people
who live next door to me. I am very friendly with my neighbors and visit them
very often. We celebrate almost everything together. There is hardly any event
we don’t invite or be the part of it. My neighbors are very broadminded
and educated. If I have to ask anything I can approach to them without hesitation.
Which is more important to you, friends and
family? Why?
Family and friends are integral part of life. Life is mundane
and meaningless if there is absence of family and friends. It is
also true that we give more priority to our family. Because our parents
do a lot to bring us up. Friends are the people who are ready to face
any difficulty with you selflessly. Life becomes if it is colored with
friends from different backgrounds. And I believe that friends are also
the part of our family. We cannot differentiate; it may lead to bad attitude
towards friends.

Model Answer:-
Reading books is one of my favorite hobbies. Whenever
I go to shopping mall I do buy books to read. I enjoy reading books on personal
development, motivation, business and health.
So far I have
read books authored by Simon Sinek, Deepak Chopra, Tony Robbins, and Robin
Sharma and so on. Their books have transformed my life and inner
personality. The write I adore is Mr. Robin Sharma, he is one of most sought
after public speaker, bestselling writers and success couches. He
has authored more than 10 books on personal mastery, success and motivation.
He believes in
uplifting and elevating the world. He talks about positive mental
attitude, dedication to personal mastery, and helping fellow beings
through his books. Earlier he was a lawyer and successfully working there. But
it was unhappy with his work; He wanted to be a writer and speaker. He
quit his job and decided to write. His first book was the monk who sold his
Ferrari happened to be a best seller.
I would like to
know how he made up his mind to write and leave his highly paid job. I have sent him messages on facebook and got
his replies that whenever he comes to India, he will invite me to attend his
seminars. I want to learn the art of writing bestseller books. Frankly
speaking I am also thinking to write a novel that will talk about replacing
bad habits with good habits.
One more reason of meeting with him is that I want to congratulate
him for the ripple he has created around the world, and ask him
to guide me how to start writing. His personality inspires me a lot.
Part-3
Example Questions:
What kinds of book are most popular with children
in your country? Why do you think that is?
Children are inclined to reading books which
tell stories of fairies and famous characters of past depicted in
different and easy way. For example, children mostly read comics and
other books printed with pictures. It is very common among to read books which
have cartoon characters. Many publishers have transformed the way
of publishing books keep the young in views. They pick up religious
characters or martyrs give them they form of cartoon as heroes or
supermen and women. Children are keen on reading such books;.
Why do you think some children do not read books
very often?
It is disheartening to know that children today
are reluctant to read books. They have become immune to playing
games on phones and computers. The innovation in technology is not encouraging
children to become avid readers. Reading is formality to pass the
examination not to inculcate learning. They receptive mind is hooked
up by games and other gadget.
How do you think children can be encouraged to
read more?
Motivating children to read is very challenging
these days. It is noticed that children read to complete the given tasks, I
would like to say that children must be provided books of their interests, they
should be free to choose any subject to study
be it in curriculum or not.
Teachers and parents must assign reading tasks to children and on the successful
completion they could be given any reward. They must be reminded the
importance of reading in live.
Reading for different purposes
Are there any occasion when reading at speed is a
useful skill to have? What are they?
The top people have one thing is common that is
reading habit they all are thorough readers. It is said that to lead in personally
and professionally one has to know more. Reading opens up the blockages
of mind. It is like dream with open eyes. It is better to prioritize
reading every day. It must be daily habit to excel in life. I have heard
that highly successful people such as Bill Gates, Ratan Tata, Mukesh Ambani and
many more devote their special time to read books, newspapers, and
magazines and articles online.
Are there any jobs where people need to read a
lot? What are they?
I have come to know that people who are involved
in writing reviews of books, technology, movies or anything, have to
read a lot. News editors, writers and advocates cannot afford not
to read, they have to keep themselves updated with latest ideas, trends
and amendments. The CEOs of Multi-nation Corporations are devoted readers. To
take their companies ahead and inspire the employees they hunt ideas
through reading.
Do you think that reading novels is more
interesting that reading factual books? Why is that?
I agree that factual books are not interesting to read
because our mind prefers doing easy things. When we have to read anything where
we have to use our mind to figure out anything our mind starts feeling tired
and bored. The novels are written in way they anybody can read. It is
always a pleasure to read a novel than any books contain facts, figures,
stats and complex terms. It becomes uninteresting to read such
books.
